Job Title: Director of Nursing

Status: Full Time Days

Shift: Monday- Friday, 8am- 4:30pm

Job Summary:
The Director of Nursing is delegated the administrative authority, responsibility and
accountability for the leadership and management of the nursing department. This authority
includes ensuring that residents of the nursing care facility receive quality care and services that
are based on comprehensive accurate assessments of needs and strengths and that nursing
staff complete implementation of the developed plan of resident care with evaluation of
effectiveness and implementation of alternatives. The Director of Nursing effectively operates in
an organizational culture characterized by teamwork, precision, openness, engagement,
challenges, reports and deliverable results. The Director of Nursing is held accountable for
departmental compliance, risk management, and project planning, and is expected to be
organized, data driven and capable of producing effective written reports and documents. This
position is expected to work weekday business hours (8:00AM- 4:30PM), however expectation
of flexibility to meet team member and resident needs on all three shifts. On-call responsibility
in rotation is also required.

Required Skills/Education:
● RNlicense in the state of Pennsylvania in good standing
● Bachelor’s degree in nursing from an accredited college or university preferred
● Minimumofthree(3)years nursing management/supervisory experience
● Experience as a manager or supervisor in long term care
● Progressive management experience
● Minimumoffive(5) years nursing experience
● Certified Nursing Director of Long Term Care Certification (or will obtain within 1 year of
employment)
● CPRcertification
● Demonstrate competence in management and leadership
● Knowledgeoffederal and state regulations– Medicare and Medicaid
● Knowledgeoflong term care Department of Health survey and certification
requirements and regulations
● Knowledgeofreimbursement guidelines and best practices
● Knowledgeofbudget preparation and review
● Knowledgeandunderstanding of Pennsylvania state nursing practice act
● Knowledgeandunderstanding of the Residents Bill of Rights
