Compensation
Salary Range: $120,000 – $140,000 annually (Exempt)

Each role includes an estimated salary range based on the budgeted compensation. The final rate of pay will be included in the offer and is determined by experience, education, qualifications, and other job‑related factors.

Description

Position Summary

The Director of Nursing provides leadership to the Healthcare Department to ensure Tandem Living’s standards, policies, and procedures are upheld and that supportive, person‑directed care is consistently delivered. This role participates in a manager‑on‑duty and on‑call rotation and is expected to uphold Tandem Living’s Core Values, Mission Statement, and regulatory requirements.

 

Qualifications

  • Current Pennsylvania license to practice as a Registered Nurse
  • Five (5) years of experience as an RN Charge Nurse/Supervisor or previous DON experience, preferably in a CCRC

 

  • Basic computer skills; proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Outlook)
  • Current, in‑person American Heart Association–approved hands‑on BLS certification

 

Responsibilities Include

  • Develops written policies, procedures, and standards with a focus on quality of life and quality of care; communicates expectations clearly and ensures accountability
  • Performs key management functions, including interviewing candidates, overseeing performance appraisals, resolving staff concerns, monitoring staffing needs, managing turnover, conducting monthly RN/LPN/CNA meetings, and ensuring appropriate RN supervision
  • Maintains high visibility within the department and provides budget input with attention to cost containment
  • Addresses significant family concerns in collaboration with the Nursing Home Administrator
  • Strategically plans, organizes, prioritizes, and delegates responsibilities with accuracy and attention to both care quality and resident experience
  • Establishes and oversees antibiotic stewardship standards; collaborates with the Antibiotic Stewardship Task Force, Infection Prevention, and physicians on related policies and procedures
