Nurse leaders are consistently in survey preparedness mode. There are many regulations – both federal and state but some are cited with deficient practices more frequently and regularly than others. Many have higher risk for resident safety and quality of care. It is important to focus on all regulations when providing resident care and educating caregivers but there are some high-risk regulatory areas that have a wider scope of coverage and should attract more of the nurse leader’s attention. This session will address those areas and focus on what nurse leaders can implement to protect and assist their facilities from deficiencies, complaints, and non-compliance.
