About Us

Who are we?

PADONA represents post-acute nurses and professionals providing care for our seniors across Pennsylvania nursing facilities. We are committed to supporting our Commonwealth long-term care professionals in their quest to provide quality care and services. We offer valuable education and training programs provided by industry leaders.

PADONA

Pennsylvania Association of Directors of Nursing Administration

We provide nurses the opportunity to elevate their career through our Director of Nursing in Long-Term Care certification program. Our leadership development program, annual conference, new DON orientation and mentoring program, daily updates, and frequent webinar learning opportunities foster professional growth and development within our nursing specialty.

We have a rich history of serving our long-term care nurse leaders. Since 1988, we have been dedicated to service and committed to caring. We represent professionals from for – profit, not – for – profit, county, and state nursing facilities. We are a trusted resource for those just entering the industry as well as seasoned professionals.

PADONA is an approved provider of continuing nursing education by the Pennsylvania State Nurses Association Approver Unit, an accredited approver by the American Nurses Credentialing Center’s Commission on Accreditation.

Our Mission

We are committed to supporting post-acute professionals by providing resources, professional development, advocacy, and collaboration to enhance the quality of care and services to our seniors. As a 501 c (6) non-profit, we invest our financial resources into providing professional growth and development opportunities for post-acute professionals that supports the delivery of the highest quality of care and services for our Commonwealth seniors.

Our vision is to develop post-acute professionals who advocate and demonstrate integrity, compassion, and competency in the care and services provided to our seniors.

Pennsylvania Teaching Nursing Home Collaborative (PA TNHC)

PADONA is a proud partner of the Pennsylvania Teaching Nursing Home Collaborative (PA TNHC), a statewide initiative that is advancing excellence in nursing homes through education and workforce support.

Nurse leaders play an integral part in the Collaborative’s work; they can strengthen partnerships with schools of nursing, show nursing students the benefits of working in long-term care, and improve resident care with the Age-Friendly Health Systems 4Ms framework.

PADONA partnership with AMI

PADONA and the Pennsylvania Long-Term Care (LTC) Resiliency, Infrastructure Supports, and Empowerment (RISE) program have forged a robust partnership, dedicated to enhancing the education and leadership of nurse leaders in the long-term care settings. The LTC RISE program includes the PA Department of Health, PA Department of Human Services, PA Emergency Management Agency, and private sector partners. The PA LTC RISE program has enlisted AMI as a trusted partner to oversee three regions (Southwest, North Central, and Northeast) within the state of Pennsylvania. Through PADONA’s comprehensive educational
initiatives, nurse leaders are equipped with the skills and knowledge needed to excel in their roles. AMI provides support to this mission by assisting with the facilitation of the program and ensuring a diverse range of participants are selected from AMI’s respective regions. This collaboration exemplifies a shared commitment to improving long-term care through quality education and regional engagement.
