Description

Situated in the beautiful mountains near Michaux State Forest, South Mountain Restoration Center, a Long Term Care Skilled Nursing Home Facility operated by the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania is seeking a dedicated, experienced Nurse Manager to manage and coordinate resident care.  You can truly have a positive influence on the lives of our residents through excellence in nurse management!

The salary range is $80,201 – $121,929.  We offer an excellent benefits package including health insurance coverage for employee and qualifying dependents, dental, vision, prescription, hearing aids, employer paid group life insurance, paid vacation, sick leave, and holiday leave, as well as retirement contribution plans.

The hours of work for this position are 11:00 pm – 7:00 am Sunday – Thursday.

Job duties:

Supervises nursing staff/services on an eight-hour shift in accordance with state, federal and facility regulations, standards and policies. Assumes administrative responsibility in absence of superiors. Makes rounds of inspection and coordinates continuity of care in all areas of resident care. Takes corrective action when needed. Maintains a harmonious relationship with residents and their families. Consults with attending physician as needed. Prepares performance evaluations on subordinate staff. Counsels, instructs, plans and assigns work to nursing staff as needed. Establishes and maintains effective working relationship with personnel throughout Facility. Develops a resident-centered attitude and respect for resident dignity. Supports and participates in out-service and in-service training, seminars and workshops as needed. Maintains knowledge of current developments in the field of nursing including administrative and general nursing practices.

Serves on committees and as Resident Abuse investigator as appointed. Reports to and consults with the Director of Nursing routinely.

Must meet one set of Minimum Experience and Training requirements for the position:

Two years as a Registered Nurse Supervisor or three years as a Registered Nurse Instructor in a facility providing individual/patient care and services consistent with those needed for the type of health care setting for individuals/patients with a mental or physical injury or illness and/or developmental disability;

or

Six years of professional nursing experience, which includes one year in a supervisory, or consultative capacity providing individual/patient care and services consistent with those needed for the type of health care setting for individuals/patients with a mental or physical injury or illness and/or developmental disability; and a Bachelor's degree in Nursing, Nursing Education or Administration; A Master's degree in Nursing, Nursing Education or Administration may be substituted for up to one year of the required general professional nursing work experience;

or

Any equivalent combination of experience and training which includes one year in a supervisory or consultative capacity providing individual/patient care and services consistent with those needed for the type of health care setting for individuals/ patients with a mental or physical injury or illness and/or developmental disability;

Pennsylvania Residency requirement has been waived for this position.
