Job Title: Staff Educator, LPN
Status: Full Time
Shift/Hours: Days, 8am - 4:30pm
What do I need as an LPN Staff Educator with Messiah Lifeways?
- LPN licensed in Pennsylvania
- Certified in CPR/First Aid with teacher certification
- Minimum of three (3) years of nursing experience with three years in long term care and teaching experience required
- Must successfully complete and pass the DHS Train-the-Trainer Medication Course within 8 months of employment
- Evidence of progressive supervisory experience desired
- Must have discretion, tact, patience, and compassion
- Excellent interpersonal skills; leadership skills; public speaking skills and teaching ability; creativity in presentation of information and development of programs; attention to detail and the willingness to attempt alternatives
- Organizational skills that allow for the management of multiple priorities
What will I do as a LPN Staff Educator with Messiah Lifeways?
- Develop, implement, and deliver the new hire orientation programs for new Enhanced Living team members following their first day of Messiah Lifeways General Orientation
- Coordinate ongoing opportunities for CPR certification to all team members
- Coordinate presentation of annual mandatory educational in-services and additional in-services, as needed, as procedures and regulations change
- Assist with procedure manuals for Enhanced Living Neighborhoods in developing and revising procedures, as required
- Develop, provide and/or assist with coordinating educational opportunities via Relias
- Coordinate educational opportunities for team members externally to improve knowledge base and increase skill level while also coordinating the communication of information with facility team members through internal in-service education
- Coordinate the education and orientation needs of contracted and ancillary personnel (i.e. dining, housekeeping, etc.) with the appropriate supervisor
- Assess and provide for the educational needs of neighborhood team members as situations occur that result in educational deficits
- Coordinate and facilitate the Department of Human Services Medication class and maintain system to ensure that all supportive documentation remains current
- Assist the Enhanced Living Director of Nursing with audits, record keeping, education and other audits as assigned
- Support and cover neighborhood charge nurses during urgent needs
