Kendal~Crosslands Communities, a leader in the senior services field for over 50 years, is seeking a dynamic and experienced Director of Nursing.  Located in the heart of the Brandywine Valley and steeped in Quaker values, we are a not-for-profit retirement community with 2 Life Plan Communities (over 500 residences) and 2 50+ Communities (with 74 residences) dedicated to older adults' care, dignity, and respect. The successful candidate will work at the Crosslands Community location and lead our Health Center consisting of 60 skilled nursing and 51 personal care residences.

This position plays an integral leadership role in the overall operations of the Health Center.  This role requires a servant leader with strong clinical practice nursing management skills with a proven track record in planning, organizing, directing, and evaluating best practice systems of care.

Key responsibilities include the leadership of the nursing care team, developing policies, procedures and standards of care, recruitment and retention of staff, educational program for Health Center staff, identifying and implementing innovations in the work environment, compliance with all federal, state, and local standards, guidelines and regulations.

Qualifications include a current Registered Nurse license in the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania and a Bachelor of Science Degree in Nursing with 5 years related progressive experience in clinical practice nursing management and dementia care, experience in nursing management of long-term or acute care, and 5 years’ experience in a leadership role. Must have strong team building and leadership skills and working knowledge of electronic medical records and pharmacy software systems. Master’s Degree in Nursing or Health Administration preferred.
