Description

The Director of Nursing is responsible for the organization, supervision, administration and overall management of the
nursing services program.

Full Time | On-Call Rotation

  • Qualifications:
     High school diploma or equivalent required
     Bachelor’s degree in Nursing preferred
     Active Pennsylvania Registered Nurse licensure required
     Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required or ability to obtain
     Active or ability to obtain Wound Certification and Infection Preventionist Certification
     Three years’ experience working in Geriatric, Long Term Care or Rehab setting
     One year management or supervisory experience
     Knowledge of federal and state regulations
     Ability to lead and instruct staff
     Excellent communication skills
     Computer skills
  • Responsibilities and Expectations:
     Develops and maintains nursing policies, procedures, objectives and practice standards.
     Prepares staffing schedules within budgetary guidelines and ensures; assists with budget process
     Maintains and prepares records, documentation and reports as required by policies and regulations.
     Acts as a catalyst for quality improvement.
     Performs daily rounding on residents and staff.
     Remains compliant with all federal, state, local and corporate regulations.
     Creates, maintains and supports a safe work environment and work practices.
     Supervises medical records service.
     Responsible for the Comprehensive Resident Assessment and the Interdisciplinary Plan Of Care process.
     Assists with maintenance of nursing policies, procedures, objectives and standards of practice.
     Reviews and makes recommendations related to recruitment, interviewing, hiring, training, supervision and
    corrective action for nursing staff; responsible for appropriate documentation related to these tasks.
     Evaluates job performance of professional staff and reviews peer evaluations for assigned staff.
     Participates in preparation of nursing schedules to assure adequate staffing and quality care.
     Provides input and direction to the nursing Quality Assurance Program.
     Conducts regular staff meetings for all shifts.
     Maintains accurate resident census reports.
     Assists with licensure and certification tracking.
     Maintains budgetary control of supply inventory, cost containment and staffing.
     Develops positive relationships and is accessible to all residents, families, visitors and staff.
     Promotes and supports culture of patient centered care and service.
