  • 3rd Shift Differential Pay of $3.00 per hour

The RN Supervisor possesses supervisory and administrative authority regarding overall management of resident care, staff and general operations in the absence of the Administrator and the Director of Nursing.  The RN Supervisor is responsible for the facilitation of health care services including all aspects of safety, building security and management of staff, equipment and emergency situations. The RN Supervisor shall assist in training, supervision and evaluation of those staff members on the assigned shift.  The RN Supervisor utilizes established communication systems to maintain necessary reports and to inform the Director of Nursing and Administration of changes in residents’ conditions and/or unusual incidents. The RN Supervisor has an understanding of the relationship between disease processes and therapeutic interventions and assesses residents when there is a change in condition.  

RN Supervisor Position Qualifications:

Proper techniques for the delivery of medications and treatments. Documentation in the medical record that reflects the residents’ condition, medication and treatments.  Prevention of disease and application of universal precautions. Experience in care of the elderly, chronically ill, restorative nursing, unit management and quality assurance. Understanding of roles and functions of all levels of nursing staff and total health care team.  Must possess or have the potential for leadership roles in interdisciplinary cooperation, staff development, and resident/family relationships. Capability for independent decision-making, formulation and delegation of responsibility. The RN Shift Supervisor interacts with physicians, residents, families, volunteer workers, and other visitors to promote customer service. Must have the ability to communicate with residents, families and personnel and ability to remain calm under stress.
