Certification as required by federal and state law. CNA's will answer residents' call lights, serve meals, make beds, feed, dress, groom, toilet, and bathe residents. CNA's will give massages, provide skin and personal care, take temperatures, pulse, respiration, and blood pressure. CNA's will help residents get in and out of bed and walk, escort residents, keep resident' rooms neat, set up equipment, perform light cleaning tasks and observe residents' physical, mental, and emotional conditions and report any change to the nursing staff.

CNA's may need to work beyond normal working hours in other positions when necessary. CNA's may be required to work on weekends and holidays, and on shifts other than the one hired.

Intermittent standing, walking, reaching, bending, stooping, kneeling, lifting in excess of 100, (with assisting devices or help of other staff members) lifting of up to 50 pounds of force to lift, push, pull, or otherwise move objects including the human body, fine hand coordination.


Compensation:

Assistant Director of Staff Development – Full time

Colonial Manor Nursing Home York, PA

The Assistant Director Staff Development is responsible to assist with teaching and evaluating the core orientation course for all employees as well as the program for nursing assistants. The Assistant Director is also responsible to assist in coordinating the in-service programs for all employees, and assist in evaluating educational needs for all employees within the facility. The Assistant Director of Staff Development participates in the quality improvement process and ensures that the staff is providing quality resident care.

Must be Licensed as a Registered Nurse by the State Board of Nurse Examiners. Bachelor's degree or one year's supervisory/teaching experience required.

Previous nursing experiences in a long-term care facility. Evidence of continued educational advancement and maintenance of up-to-date knowledge of current trends and new developments.

Must have the knowledge and ability to apply basic principles of nursing care in accordance with state nursing acts and standards.

Required to have an understanding of the following: Administering personal hygienic and therapeutic measures for residents and techniques within the parameters of the nurse practice act. Proper techniques for the delivery of medications and treatments. Documentation in the medical record that reflects the resident's condition, medication and treatments. Prevention of disease and application of universal precautions. Experience in care of the elderly, chronically ill, restorative nursing, unit management and quality assurance. Must possess or have the potential for leadership roles in interdisciplinary cooperation, staff development, and resident/family relationships. Capability for independent decision-making formulation and delegation of responsibility.
